Chromis and ADTRAN sign partnership agreement

We’re very selective at Chromis Technology about whose products we’ve chosen to represent and in turn sell to our customer base. Digium, that’s a no brainer, they’re THE Asterisk company. Polycom, everyone knows they make the best handsets out there. Jabra… I think you get my point… Well, we’ve added another spoke to our VoIP wheel. I’d like to formally announce that we’ve signed an agreement to become an ADvantage partner with ADTRAN.

Well for starters they are one of the world’s most successful network access equipment suppliers, with a long history of profitability and a portfolio of more than 1,300 solutions for use in the last mile of today’s telecommunications networks. Widely deployed by carriers and enterprises, their solutions enable voice, data, video, and Internet communications across copper, fiber, and wireless network infrastructures. So what that means is companies like Qwest, AT&T, Verizon, (i.e. the “Baby Bells”) are using their equipment to deploy their networks. I’m reminded of the Sony HDTV marketing with Peyton Manning during the last NFL season: “The games are shot on Sony HD cameras so shouldn’t you be watching on a Sony HDTV?” Similar concept but much more of a technologically relevant scenario, i.e. less marketing spin in this case. If Qwest is using Adtran gear at the top levels, the ability to “talk” to that network at the SMB level from the Qwest level is more easily achieved. (Please don’t misinterpret that last statement, there is other fabulous gear out there that will connect to the Qwest networks of the world, at various price points, all speaking the same “similar” language. My point is that the gear you choose can make or break your “customer experience”.)
