Everything is for sale at Nortel
Unless you’ve lived under a telecom news rock, you’ve undoubtedly heard the news about Nortel’s bankruptcy filing last week. The company officially calls it “Business and Financial Restructuring“… But you know things are bad when they’re even having to sell their race cars at auction…
I was at the Barrett-Jackson auto auction in Scottsdale, AZ this past weekend and found the timing of this item on the block terribly ironic. This is a Panther Racing test car circa the 1998-1999-2000 Indy season. (I’m not sure of the exact date.) Nortel first sponsored the Indy racing team in 1998. The car sold for $38,500.00.
So what does this Bankruptcy filing mean for Asterisk and Open Source? Well, we still have to wait and see, but I think the potential impact is big.
